A tyrant from across the pond.

From: The Dynamic Duo (pokerman117@yahoo.com) | Date: 2005-05-29 15:32:49 UTC
Our friend difficult run has NOT been to those boxes in D.C. He is at
home in his flat....IN ENGLAND. Let me tell you guys, do not put any
info on the net that you don't want people to know about. Like your
address, where you work, your phone number....bad news. I found out
all of this stuff about this guy and have no idea what I'm doing on a
computer.
Long story short, the boxes are safe and the internet is a scary place
to send information. I think this guy Mitch is some disgruntled
geocacher who is angry and/or jealous that we get away with hiding on
NPS property.

Stealth must be easier for us because there is no junk
exchange....takes less time and is not as noisy.

Someone had mentioned that if you are on digest, you see the e-mail address of the sender. You don't even have to be on digest. You can right click on the post and click on "message source" and get it also. You just have to scroll up and keep an eye out for it. This is true of all e-mail as far as I have found, unless the sender has some kind of fancy encrypting code I suppose.

Hey Seth,
How did you manage to find out this stuff? I even did a search on the IP addresses and they all come back to yahoo as the domain owner. I googled the part of the e-mail address that is showing and got nothing. Why don't you share your research secrets with us Seth? Inquiring minds want to know Seth.

If you would go to post # 51046 titled "NPS and Mitch from the UK"
and then to "Benefits of the Digest" you will see that I had posted
the info about his being from the UK. I'm not sure I would call him a
tyrant though as that would elevate his status. I would just call him
a pathetic troll trying to stir up a list.

Love to tell you, but it may ruin things for others.

I know. I just meant that you don't have to be on digest to find out that info. And I was just wondering how someone else found out so much info, besides your post I mean.
And I'm sure you're right about the troll thing.

First I've got to admit that I didn't read the post from Mitch and don't know
what the hullabaloo is about.

BUT

Lets not throw names around. If it wasn't for Mitch there would be no LBNA
as we know it - there would be no patches. He had the website that kept all of
this going for us latecomers. He designed the patch. When I started
letterboxing in 1999 Mitch was the The Letterboxing Guy plus a few others.

Whatever he is upset about - maybe he has good cause. I don't know

But lets let civility rule the day.

Is it possible these Mitches about whom you speak are different
people? As far as I can discern, one appears to reside in the UK
and the other in OR.

This is a perfect foot in mouth situation. If you HAD read the thread you would well
know that this troll is not the famed Der Mad Stamper but some fellow
determined to annoy people. Oooops... Funhog

Der Mad Stamper? No, not that Mitch.
I've never had any contact with him. I'm talking to
the one in England who is going to rat on some boxes
in D.C. Not Mitch from Oregon.
